Brightline to close Disney Springs station
Plans for guests to ride trains to and from Disney Springs were canceled after Brightline announced it would not open a train station at Disney Springs. According to Brightline, the station is still planned near the original Disney Springs site, but not on Disney-owned property. Additionally, Brightline said it will also open a new train station at the Orange County Convention Center. Both of these proposed stations connect to the airport station at OIA’s South Terminal.
Lake Buena Vista, Florida – Plans for guests to ride trains to and from Disney Springs were canceled after Brightline announced it would not open a train station at Disney Springs.
Instead, it plans to open a station near the original Disney Springs site, but not on land owned by Disney, the railroad said in a statement.
Additionally, Brightline said it will also open a new train station at the Orange County Convention Center. Both of these proposed stations connect to the airport station at OIA’s South Terminal.
The change in plans comes after Brightline was asked by community leaders late last year to consider alternative locations for its planned expansion from the Orlando International Airport to Tampa.
