A man who left a woman in Bateman’s Bay “out of concern for her safety” has been sent to prison after many incidents, including leaving a dead mouse on the doorstep of her home.
Dean Richard Roach was found Monday (December 5) in Quembean District Court on one count of stalking or intimidating with intent to intimidate fear of physical or mental harm and an incident earlier this year at Batemans Bay. He was convicted of one count of public exposure resulting from two incidents involving him. .
The Canberra man’s mother has a villa in the area Roach visits. According to police facts, a woman, a victim of stalking and a neighbor to Roach’s mother, said her husband would come by unannounced while her husband was at work and harass Roach, doing laundry, using the Internet, etc. I had previously complained about “behavioral concerns”. She called her business cell phone number and asked for her “spray tongue” and more.
Roach had stopped visiting the area while in prison in the ACT for a number of crimes, including defecating in a pool, exposing himself to children, and urinating on a supermarket floor.
As a result, the victim’s husband was mowing Roach’s mother’s lawn and parked the camper near the perimeter fence.
When Roach was paroled for ACT violations, he visited his mother’s villa again.
On July 27, 2022, the victim saw Roach approaching the house and ran into the house, locking the front door behind her.
According to police facts, she saw Roach crouch at the front door before walking away.
“When the victim examined the front door, it was found that a note was taped to the bottom of the door,” the police fact states.
“Just below the note was the bottom half of a dead mouse that had been cut in half in the middle.
“The note said, ‘Please move your camper off my property. You never asked my mom for permission otherwise I will move it. neighbor”.
The victim viewed this as a threat and told police that Roach’s “continued behavior” caused him to “fear for the safety of himself and his family.”
Later that day, Roach went to the City Center Arcade in Batemans Bay.
When he was outside the South Coast Spinal Center, witnesses said they saw Roach remove his penis from his shorts left leg.
He opened the clinic door and asked the witness, “Would you like a lump sum bill?”
“The witness said that the defendant [sic] Urinating on the glass window and floor of the business, causing a large pool of urine on the floor,” the police fact stated.
Roach later returned to Canberra.
After police spoke with his mother, Roach turned himself in to the Quembyan Police Station on August 25 and was charged with both charges.
As a result, the 45-year-old man was sentenced to a total of six months’ imprisonment by the Queanbeyan District Court.
Upon expiration of his term, he will be released on February 24, 2023.
