Yesterday was Disney’s fourth quarter 2021 investor conference call. On his Q&A section on the investor conference call, CFO Christin McCarthy said Disney would find ways to address rising food costs by increasing prices or reducing portion sizes and charging the same amount. I admit that I may have to.
But it’s not that the already much more expensive food has become more expensive for guests, or smaller at the same price point, that people got a little mad about.
“We can cut portion sizes to fit some people’s waistlines,” she said. Of course it is. I feel it’s just another way Disney can continue to put a price on people and make huge profits.
Twitter was quick to point out that Disney’s CFO’s comments were a bit off-brand for a company touting “diversity and inclusion.”
Some people are tired of being gouged out.
@WaltDisneyCo You should refer to some online forums about parks. CFO says smaller portion sizes improve customer waistlines, but it doesn’t look good…Disney should be about the consumer and you.i’m losing it

How to go to Disney for fat shaming…and keep the prices the same They want our waist sizes down but with all the money in their pockets they want waist sizes up I think…

This pisses me off how much they sell the food.. the portions are already perfect. They charge an arm and a leg for drinks, sandwiches and other meals.I don’t understand why they can’t carefully calculate and study this at the statistical level they can balance

Imagine. Disney executives and investors see guests as piggy banks, not people.
Cutting parts to cut costs is one thing, but comments about people’s waistlines are so unflattering, unnecessary and disrespectful as f***More

That’s it, I’m just doing all you can eat there. And I do everything I can to cut their profits. Fill your face all day long. they will regret this…

I believe they are already there. Just last week, the quantity of Thai Pelken noodle bowls at Skipper Canteen was dramatically less than on any other visit.

Sorry but oh my god. Disney has done terrible things lately, but this one is the best for me. Who is Christine McCarthy, but she can go F OFF. How about Disney cutting salaries to save your wallet waistline?

“Here at Disney Parks, we care about your waistline.

In fact they could raise the price or raise the price by one or two extra per night.
I haven’t finished reading this picky comment made to Disney’s shareholder call about inflation costs.
..can cut portion sizes suitable for some people’s waistlines..
Wow. People are on vacation and have already paid a lot for most of these meals.

Christine McCarthy probably shouldn’t be in the press again 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
Also, they had already cut some down a few months ago at the Quick Serve in the Epcot Mexico Pavilion. We always get the Pollo Cascabel rice bowl and for the same price we were appalled at what they gave us.
