Walt Disney World Resort began charging for parking at resort hotels in 2018. Since then, there have been different rates for Value, Moderate, and Deluxe/Disney Vacation Club Resorts, and the rates have increased multiple times.
The change was controversial because Disney park fans already felt that The Walt Disney Company was going nickel and dimmed guests. After the change, more guests started using his Lyft, Uber, and Minnie Van services.

But Walt Disney World Resort is said to be making extra money for guests who unknowingly don’t pay for parking. dizwire) reviewed the resort’s bill and found that they charged $120 for unused parking after arriving at the resort hotel via Lyft.
12) If you don’t have a car, don’t worry about being charged $128 for parking at the resort. Looks like I’ll be calling billing support today.
Correction – $120 was parking fee for a car we didn’t have. $6 was the fee for picking up an Instacart order of snacks and sodas.

Luckily, the guest was able to get a refund on the Walt Disney World Resort bill after 45 minutes on the phone. But he wouldn’t have noticed the charge if he hadn’t checked the bill.
UPDATE: Called billing support, heard they waited 25 minutes, left a callback number, waited 30 minutes, got a call back, was put on hold to wait another 10 minutes for a human, finally Fully credited after reaching a very friendly CM. Sorted it out in just a few minutes.

While this isolated incident is tragic, concerns have been raised as multiple guests reported similar experiences. @WDWTales said it’s happened to them every time they stay since parking fees started:
it happens to us. every day. single. time.
