Tampa, FL (WFLA) – A sweet pup is recovering after enduring harsh conditions on Florida’s sidewalks.
Tri-County Humane shared on Facebook that the dog was found “cemented” on a sidewalk off Yamato Road in Boca Raton, Florida for several days.
The organization said the dog trooper was “completely stranded” and “left to die.”
“The smell was irresistible. There was no way a dog could be like this overnight,” shared Tri-County Humane.
After spending hours grooming and shampooing, Trooper started looking like himself again, but the medical conditions he suffered were too much for such a small dog.

Tri-County Humane stated that maggots could be seen crawling out of the trooper’s fur.
After running several tests, the trooper was diagnosed with 22 medical conditions, according to Animal Rescue.
- paralysis
- heart murmur
- Corneal ulcer
- Prostatic hypertrophy
- Earthworm
- severe periodontal disease
- ear infections
- Urinary-tract infection
The trooper’s medical bills have already run up to $2,500, but “what we really need is to take him to a professional and see if we can get him to walk.” Tri-County writes.
