Tampa, Florida (WFLA) — Travelers planning to fly over the state on Wednesday with clear skies may experience some delays, according to a notice on the Tampa International Airport website.
advance notice The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said it implemented a temporary “delay program” for flights bound for Florida on Wednesday.
The Tampa-based airport said weather was the cause of the delay.
Max Defender 8’s latest weather forecast indicates that a cold front is approaching from the panhandle. Clouds will spread in the afternoon, but rain is expected to continue until after sunset.
The chance of precipitation increases to 30% in the evening and becomes even more likely at night.
Affected passengers are advised to check with their airline for the latest information regarding flight updates.
Earlier in the week, a computer issue caused a delay at the Florida airport. Although the issue was eventually resolved, a Federal Aviation Administration spokesperson said the issue had reduced flights into Florida airspace.
