Recently, Disney guests have complained about the quality of food at Disney restaurants.
This is why Walt Disney Company CFO Christine McCarthy recently suggested that Disney would “reduce portions” at its Disney Parks restaurants as “good for guests’ waistlines” in order to start cutting costs. It was after I showed them my plans.
Another Disney restaurant is currently receiving backlash over food quality and portion sizes.

Mama Melrose is an Italian-themed restaurant located in Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World. Defined as an Italian restaurant with a California twist, it has a gorgeous ambience complete with overhead string lights.
Menu highlights include crispy calamari and oven-baked margarita flatbreads, authentic pastas, flavorful chicken and seafood recipes, and even charred strip steaks.
However, the restaurant has received backlash after one Disney World guest said he was served “the worst meal.”

In a video posted on TikTok, the guests can be heard explaining that they are never picky eater and are actually “pretty adventurous” with food, but Mama Melrose is “very adventurous” for them. No.”
Mouselets even went so far as to say that the food served at Mama Melrose was “the worst meal I’ve ever had at Disney”, describing how small the portion sizes are. Within the video’s caption, they explained:
Both times I’ve been there I was really disappointed with the small portion size. The food in my opinion was mediocre and similar to Tony’s (think Olive Garden) but every time I left hungry after a meal!
TikTok users described their disappointment with the atmosphere, wait staff, and never-busy:
It’s a shame because this restaurant has potential – great theme, great waitstaff and not so busyMore

Note that the quality of the food is not due to Disney’s cost cutting, but to supply chain issues, according to Disney’s manager.
