A “revolutionary” theater experience
Presented in a revolving theatre, the show includes an innovative seating area that moves around a stationary center stage for each act.
A classic Walt Disney attraction
Walt Disney originally envisioned the show as part of a new area of Disneyland Park called Edison Square. When the concept was abandoned, the idea was revisited and eventually opened under the name “Progressland” at the 1964-65 New York World’s Fair.
The show was an instant hit with the classic song “There’s a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow” by the team of Academy Award-winning brothers Richard and Robert Sherman. Following its success, the show was moved to Disneyland Park and renamed “The Carousel of Progress.”
In 1975, the attraction moved to Magic Kingdom Park and was rewritten and re-performed with a new theme song, “The Best Time of Your Life.”
In the true spirit of progress, the show was reworked into its first incarnation in 1994, keeping the original theme song intact as a tribute to nostalgia.
