Hearing about the January renovations isn’t exactly shocking news, especially the water rides. Most of Disney’s water rides are closed during this time for maintenance. The weather is cool and the crowds are few, so it’s the perfect time to get your ride ready and looking its best.

At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Kali River Rapids will be closed for renovations in January. This is nothing new and usually from January every year he is closed until April. As we reported on the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, these expanded renovations are part of what sets Disney apart from other theme parks. While other park rides tend to fade and fade with age, Disney’s rides stand the test of time with rigorous maintenance and upkeep.
However, some fear that the rides will be completely closed. Recent reports suggest that once the Kali River rapids are closed, January 9, 2023 will not resume. This has led to outcries on social media from those living in the vehicle. Not only has Disney given no indication that the ride will be permanently closed, it makes no sense.

Disney has two major water rides: Kali River Rapids and Splash Mountain. The latter, of course, will end on January 23, 2023 for the long-awaited (and much-discussed) Princess and the Frog re-theme. To make this change, the ride will be stopped for several months. At this time, it does not make sense to permanently close the Kali River rapids.
Additionally, Animal Kingdom is currently in a state of flux. Dinoland is now extinct because it’s been transformed into something completely new (we don’t know yet, as Disney isn’t getting any closer with any particular plans). It doesn’t make sense to close Kali if you desperately need a vehicle to keep it.
I don’t think Kali River Rapids is going anywhere, but as always, we’ll be bringing you the latest Disney news, food, and more, so stay tuned! To do.
