ORLANDO, FL — Florida theme parks in 2023 see the old disappear and the new appear.
Walt Disney World, Busch Gardens, Universal Studios Orlando, Legoland, and SeaWorld Orlando will sweep out their current attractions to make way for revamped rides in the new year.
Here’s what Florida theme parks will open and close in 2023.
Busch Gardens
The world’s tallest and fastest ‘Screamin’ Swing’ ride is set to open at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. Spring 2023.
Riders experience “multiple negative G moments before plummeting toward the earth” while swinging over Busch Gardens’ 65-acre Serengeti Plain, the park wrote in a release. “The new venue has been re-themed with a mix of modern décor and classic photography to take guests on a memorable journey,” Busch Gardens said in a release.

Opening: TRON Lightcycle/Run
Inspired by Disney’s futuristic 1982 film Tron and its 2010 sequel Tron Legacy, this high-speed ride takes guests on an epic adventure across the grid.

Opening: Roundup Rodeo BBQ
This ‘Toy Story’ table service restaurant brings your favorite toys from the series to life, from Buzz Lightyear to the barrel of the monkey. This family-style restaurant Spring 2023 Located in Toy Story Land at Hollywood Studios.
Universal Studios
Closing: Fiebel’s Playland, Woody Woodpecker’s Knott’s House Coaster, Curious George Into Town, DreamWorks Destinations, Shrek and Donkey’s Meet & Greet
Universal Studios announced in November that it would be closing five attractions. January 15, 2023giving way to new immersive experiences.
As for the new experience, we don’t know exactly yet. According to Universal, this “new family entertainment” will “immerse guests in the adventures of beloved animated characters.”
Guests will blast their way to “supervillain stardom” in this game-based attraction. It replaces Shrek 4D and joins the existing Despicable Me minions Mayhem attraction and Minion Cafe to create an all-new Minion Land. Villain-Con Minion Blast is set to open in his Summer 2023.

Opening: Surf Coaster
Ride waves 110 feet high on the first coaster of its kind. This extreme thrill ride will take you up to 60 mph (approximately 60 mph).the coaster is Spring 2023.
