However, one national publication argues that this may not be all.
Scheduled to close for renovations on January 9, 2023, Deadline reports that the Kali River Rapids, which currently has no reopening date, may close completely. However, this has not been confirmed by Disney, and the report is also incorrect on Splash Mountain’s deadline date.

The entertainment publication has not cited any sources that have indicated that the report is true, and at this time, Cali River Rapids has been announced despite many Disney World guests calling for changes to the attraction. It seems highly unlikely that it will be permanently closed.
Here’s how Disney describes the Kali River rapids.
Raft down a raging river
Skim erupting geysers, drift beneath lush vegetation, and race through fast-moving rapids. In the torrent, you can see the waterfalls and bedrock that spring up. Then plunge down a dramatic 20-foot slope as the natural harmony breaks down.
You Will Get Wet
There is no doubt that you will get splashed. You may get soaked. If you want to stay dry, we recommend bringing a waterproof poncho, a change of clothes, or a towel to dry yourself off.
Lockers for mobile devices and other items you don’t want to get wet are located across from the Kali River Rapids entrance and are available during your ride (first come, first serve).
