JACKSONVILLE, FL — The 75th Annual Jacksonville Boat Show takes place January 27-29 at the Prime Osborne Convention Center.
This boating event has been sponsored by the North Florida Marine Association since 1947.
According to association member Dick Boger, the boating event began with a group of local businesses coming together to create an exhibition for local boat dealers.
“Early venues for boat shows included the Old Armory on Market Street, the Jacksonville Naval Air Station, the Gator Bowl, and the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Coliseum. I remember a yacht exhibitor being unable to fit a full mast extension on his boat, and when the show was moved to the Prime Osborne Convention Center in 1990, he gained even more momentum and moved to Northeast Florida. It continues to grow as a flagship event for the boating, fishing and water sports community, he says.”
