It’s marathon season at Walt Disney World! The Walt Disney World Marathon and Disney Princess Half Marathon are held in January and February. These highly anticipated races are big events at Disney World. Runners spend months training and lining the streets to cheer on their loved ones. It is a wonderful time for all, but there will be changes and delays.

These closures won’t make a big impact at night, but they can slow down your plans significantly on your way to the park in the morning, so allow extra time. I recommend leaving and using Disney transportation. Guests staying at Disney Resort hotels can park their car in the resort parking lot and take the bus, boat, monorail, or hop on the Disney Skyliner. I recommend his Uber to the parks or Disney Springs if you are staying off Disney property. From Disney Springs, you can take a bus anywhere on the property. If I were you… I’d book an early breakfast at the hotel closest to the park I’m going to that day, and take an Uber there. From there, take Disney Transport to the park.
Please note that parking will be strictly enforced at the resort for the next few weeks. No parking is permitted on the resort hotel grounds except for guests of the resort or those who have booked table service. In addition, guests who have made restaurant reservations will not be allowed to park all day only during the reservation period. Many people try to get around this rule, but if they get caught they can get towed. It’s not a magical way to end your day.
