A strike force investigating the alleged commercial supply of cocaine and methamphetamine in Monaro has indicted four men.
Strike Force Ginga, set up to target suspected drug supplies in Queanbeyan and Jerrabomberra, launched a major operation on Wednesday (30 November), arresting three men in two towns. .
The operation included members of the assault force, along with tactical operations and other specialized units.
Two of them, Ricky Wilkinson, 39, and Joshua Vices Sonny, 33, were denied bail when they appeared in Queenbeyan District Court on Thursday (December 1).
Wilkinson’s 12 counts include seven of supplying prohibited substances, importing salable quantities of border-controlled drugs, continuing to supply prohibited substances, and knowingly trading in criminal proceeds. It contains one count of charges relating to
Mr. Sonny’s 18 counts include 13 counts of supplying prohibited substances, 3 counts of continuing to supply prohibited substances, and 1 count of dealing in criminal proceeds.
No petition was entered. Both cases have been stayed to February 7, 2023.

A third man arrested, aged 34, has been charged with supplying banned substances and issued a notice requesting him to appear before a court in Quenbiyan on January 23, 2023.
Additionally, a 33-year-old man visited the Quenbiyan Police Station on Wednesday night and received a notice requesting him to appear in court on January 16, 2023 for supplying banned substances.
Detective Superintendent Tim Beatty, NSW Police Southern Region Operations Manager, said the police will not tolerate anyone seeking to exploit community security through the alleged supply or manufacture of prohibited substances.
“Unfortunately, communities in New South Wales continue to feel the devastating impact of banned substances on their communities,” he said.
“There seems to be a perception that outside of Sydney you can do whatever you want without law enforcement oversight.”
The investigation into Assault Team Ginga continues.
