Again, I dream and think that calories don’t count if I drive under the Walt Disney World sign. When she visits Walt Disney World, she can live in a dream world where this is true and enjoy the dream of a foodie.
If you want a really good meal within the confines of Wat Disney World, head to Chef Art Smith’s Homecoming at Disney Springs. This restaurant prides itself on Southern cuisine that will not disappoint.
Advance reservations for Homecoming are highly recommended due to limited walkups. Advance reservations are recommended.
A good friend of mine and I met for dinner on Saturday and managed to get a reservation a few days in advance. so i didn’t mind.
We sat outside on the patio so we could watch the tourists and visitors while we ate. We are avid people watchers and the temperature wasn’t terrifying so this was a welcome seating arrangement.
My friend and I decided to indulge in an appetizer, entree and dessert. Had to fully experience this restaurant and see all it has to offer.
Our server was very friendly and helped us with the menu we had questions about. We finally decided on the Fried Green Tomatoes as an appetizer.

I love fried green tomatoes and these did not disappoint. They were covered in remoulade sauce and shaved ham on a bed of local vegetables. is. I’m not a huge fan of ham, but all the combinations make for a fun starter to our meal.My friend has eaten there before and she loved the deviled eggs. But I’m not a deviled egg fan. I used Bee Haven Bay Fried Green Tomatoes. I recommend adding this on her next trip to Homecoming.

For dinner we went for Art’s Famous Fried Chicken with Buttermilk Fried Chicken with Mashed Potatoes and Cheddar Drop Biscuits. It is written on the homepage that it is made with love. I can say that I tasted love in the food. The chicken was fried perfectly, the mashed potatoes were creamy and the biscuits were delicious. We didn’t finish all the chicken as there were several pieces. We also knew we needed to leave room for dessert. My friend had the shrimp and grits meal which came with shrimp, tomato gravy, ham and grits. She enjoyed this meal too, but she didn’t finish waiting for dessert.Dinner has an extensive menu her options, including vegetarian side her plates. Serving country fried steak, char grilled chicken, fried catfish, pork barbecue, short ribs, fried chicken and donuts.
There are many kinds of desserts, so I was at a loss, but I chose the hummingbird cake recommended on the internet. I have reviewed this dessert before. We need to make room for the hummingbird cake. that’s tasty!

Overall, I highly recommend dining at Chef Art Smith’s Homecoming at Disney Springs. Reservations for this restaurant are highly recommended due to limited walk ups. Add his Homecomin’ to your lineup of dining options during your Disney vacation. you won’t be disappointed.
