To kick in the new year, Gideon’s Bakehouse debuted a new flavor, Cookie Butter Butterscotch. Stopped in to try the cookies and nitro cold brew.

January’s mascot is butterscotch. Her story says, “There is a strange power in the moon, and in the pajamas of a girl named Butterscotch. Inherited from her grandmother, this dog sleeper awakens the wild nature of its wearer.” At the first full moon of the year, Butterscotch transforms from a meek child into a mischievous little terror. Then, when the sun hits her, she wakes up again as our sweet butterscotch.

Frequent Gideons customers may be pleased to know that Banana Bread Chocolate Chip Cookies are now part of their regular menu and will be served daily.

This month’s mascot is heavily butterscotch, but Biscoff is the dominant flavor.

Sweet but not too sweet. As always, it’s perfectly grilled and big enough to share.

The butterscotch flavor is very subtle, which is a shame.

Would eat there again but wouldn’t look for other options.

I was told this tasted like butterbeer, unfortunately it doesn’t.

This is a sugar-forward drink, and unlike cookies, butterscotch is heavy.

It works well when paired with cookies, but it’s too sweet for us.
Unusually for Gideons Bakehouse, both were mistakes. On Wednesdays and Saturdays they have cookie butter butterscotch cake slices, but based on the other items, we never got to try them.
