Eternal Flame Cookies are back in Spicy Gideons Bakehouse for February 2023. This cookie first debuted two years ago in Disney’s Gideons of His Springs. Taking a hiatus in 2022, Eternal Flame Cake and Velvet Fire Flavors His Chocolate He Cookies have replaced him.
Gideon’s Bakehouse’s February 2023 menu features a Medusa character with an “eternal admiration” overhead.
Behind the menu is the story of Medusa’s character, Monaxia.
Being unique can be a lonely experience. Fair Monaxia knows that experience well. Said to be the most beautiful woman in the land, she was cursed with a serpent’s mane. . Dazzling in and of themselves, these nasty locks can turn anyone who stares in her path to stone, resulting in her wandering alone into eternity, the gaze of her true love waiting to break her lonely spell.
Avoid Monaxia’s crooked stare while you enjoy your Valentine’s Day cookies.
Eternal Flame Special Edition Cookie – $6
Dark chocolate cherry cookies with ancho, cayenne and cinnamon topped with chocolate covered cherries.
The 2021 Eternal Flame Cookies had two options: spicy or mild. He only has one option this year, and it looks at least as close to his 2021 spicy option, which features edible red glitter on top. Gideons on his Bakehouse website describes this cookie as having “a deep chocolate flavor followed by the tingling warmth of a first kiss and the sweet presence of cherries.”
The cookies are salty and spicy, but not overwhelming. I was able to taste the cinnamon and pepper baked in the dough. The cherry and chocolate top balanced the spice and I loved the taste. I would say it had about the same spice level as your run-of-the-mill fast food chicken sandwich.
So if you can’t handle a lot of spices, skip this one.
