This is the 27th shop of co-founders and cousins Kim and Tyler Malek.
For them, the opening of the Disney Springs location was a natural progression of their relationship with Disney after opening a location in Disneyland’s Downtown Disney District in 2018.
Kim Marek said, “My dream has come true.
For Cousin, family remains at the heart of the business.
“When we first came up with the idea to open an ice cream shop, it was really about making connections and being a place for the community to come together,” said Kim Marek. “I think having a family at the center of it is a great pulse for the whole thing.”
What sets Salt & Straw apart is the menu featuring ice cream with ingredients like lavender, olive oil, guava and coffee, as well as more traditional options like chocolate, sea salt and caramel.
The “Classic Flavors” menu includes Double Fold Vanilla, Chocolate Gooey Brownie, Freckles Mint Chocolate Chip and Honey Lavender.
