On Wednesday January 4, 2023, Vesna Andrik was rowing for the Tathra Surf Lifesaving Club in the iconic George Bass Surfboat Marathon.
Vesna and her Tathra female crew were involved in a tragic accident just off Belmagui Beach. As a result of the accident, Vesna suffered horrific injuries including a broken pelvis, broken ribs and internal bleeding. Her spine in her Vesna was reattached to her pelvis in her surgery. As of January 13, 2023, Vesna has been moved from her ICU to the orthopedic ward.However, months of rehabilitation and further surgeries await her, but her condition is “stable”. I have side support. Vesna recently started a new job at South East Women’s & Children’s Services in Bega, where she works on domestic violence. “Vesna never asks for help herself, but we do it for her.”
