TikToker’s Thomas (@nomwiththomas) shared a Disney ‘hack’ to get cheap food at Disneyland that went viral and got over 2 million views.
“Forget paying $20 for Tortilla Joe’s,” Thomas said, referring to Tortilla Joe’s, a popular Mexican restaurant in the Downtown Disney District of Anaheim, California.
A taqueria next door serves $10 nachos and $11 burritos, says Thomas.
Tortilla Jo’s Taqueria is actually Tortilla Jo’s quick service location offering customizable burritos and tacos. According to the Disneyland website, Tortilla Joe meals range in price from $15 to $34.99, while Taqueria meals range in price from $14.99 and below.
Some people on TikTok called Disney food “too expensive” and a “money trap,” saying it’s still too much to pay for a burrito.
“Otherwise, I couldn’t go to Disney and get that food for $5,” one user commented on the video.
“$11?!!!! Oh my taqueria got an $8 burrito and a $6 torta,” said another.
Some viewers were more appreciative, saying they were excited to try the “hack.”
“Thank you! I have to go,” said one.
Another commented, “Yeah, the place is actually pretty legit.”
Some users were wondering which Disney theme park Taqueria was located in, but Thomas revealed it was in Disneyland, California.
