Over a decade ago, Lizzie Reynolds visited Disney World for the first time on a family vacation with her husband and four-year-old daughter.
Reynolds’ daughter has severe food allergies to dairy and nuts, and as a result, she’s had trouble planning vacations in the past because she’s had trouble finding restaurants that offer dairy- and nut-free menus. Reynolds told Insider.
Reynolds said a friend encouraged her family to go to Disney World. Initially, Reynolds didn’t inherently understand the theme park hype because he “didn’t want to embrace all things Disney.”
She then took a friend’s advice and planned a trip to experience the magic of Disney firsthand.
Reynolds said Disney’s restaurant chefs are not only motivated but excited to create allergy-free, personalized meals for her daughter. On the other hand, every quick service stand had information about the food items on offer, and her daughter was able to casually eat snacks and meals for the first time.
As a mother, Reynolds didn’t have to plan, cook, or pack meals for the trip. she said.
Reynolds started his own travel agency, Pixie Lizzie, eight years ago because he realized other travelers with food allergies should know how fun vacationing at Disney can be. . Her team caters to all travelers with or without food allergies, but Reynolds and a few hand-picked agents work specifically with clients with food allergies. Her team books the majority of Disney trips, but Pixie Lizzie added that she’s not directly affiliated with Disney.
Today, Reynolds has visited Disney World and Disneyland dozens of times, helping hundreds of travelers with allergies plan their trips.
Regardless of allergies to soy, gluten, nuts, or dairy, Reynolds said Disney is the perfect place to vacation.
