flagler county, florida – Two people were arrested after they were found spray painting a stolen semi truck outside the Days Inn Motel in Flagler County, police said.
Agents were called to the 120 Garden Street N motel Tuesday after receiving a call that two people were spray painting a Peterbilt semi-tractor in the back corner of a parking lot.
When agents arrived, the suspects fled toward the Wood Line, which runs south on Interstate 95. The woman’s girlfriend, Dayanly Cutino-Gonzalez, was soon found, and agents spent two hours searching for the man, Reinier Lazaro-Perez, who was hiding on a forest road.
Cutino-Gonzalez was arrested on charges of resisting arrest without violence, serious theft of a motor vehicle, and felony criminal conduct. Lazaro Perez was arrested on charges of resisting arrest without violence, theft of a motor vehicle, felony criminal conduct, possession of a defaced vehicle identification number, and possession of fentanyl.
The truck was stolen hours ago from Columbia County, Florida, and is worth $280,000, an agent said. The truck’s original color is pink, but the duo are found spray-painting the truck a different color to hide their identities.
