A fire in the kitchen of the Beaches & Cream Soda Shop evacuated two Walt Disney World Resort hotels tonight.
Beaches & Cream is located at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, adjacent to Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. Both resorts were evacuated after a fire broke out in the restaurant’s kitchen.

According to Sykes, “During routine maintenance of one of the fryers, a gas pipe burst and apparently started a fire. The cast were unable to put the fire out quickly, so they called the fire department and evacuated the restaurant, The hotel has also been evacuated for safety.Everyone did their job and as far as I know no one was hurt.”
Another reader sent us a photo of the evacuation above and a video below of him walking by a restaurant with firefighters inside after the evacuation.
Guests praised the cast members for staying calm and evacuating quickly.
Beaches & Cream Soda Shop serves retro diner food to guests of Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts. The restaurant is located near Stormalong Bay, where the two resorts meet. Guests at the Yacht and Beach Club Resort share many of the same amenities, including dining options.
The two resorts are within walking distance of EPCOT and a boat ride to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
